NEW PEAS AND POTATOES IN CREAM SAUCE

Oh my fucking Zeus!  This is such an incredible meal.  Here's the recipe.  My mom and grandmother didn't measure, but I'll help out a little.
About 1 lb of new potatoes.
1 1/2 cups fresh shelled snap peas.
1 tbs minced onion.
1 tbs butter.
1 tbs flour.
1/2 tsp salt.
1/8 tsp pepper.
1 cup milk.
A scant tsp sugar.

Cook potatoes till tender with fork. Drain and set aside.
Cook peas till just tender.  Drain and set aside.
In pan big enough to hold everything, add butter and onion.  Saute, but don't brown.  Add flour, salt, sugar and pepper.  Stir until mixed.  Add more flour if mixture not stiff enough.  Add milk and stir until bubbly and mixture begins to thicken. 
Add potatoes and peas.  Stir till warmed through and serve hot.
